Universal government sponsored health care leads to dangerous expansion of government and degradation of the quality of health care provided. Some state that everyone has a right to health care. This is only true in a limited sense. Children should be provided for and people in emergency situations can be provided for. However, there is no way that tax dollars should pay for things like minor pain medications, allergy medicines, gastric bypass surgery, etc. People should find jobs that provide medical insurance. I know that everyone cannot afford this, but it is something that should be a goal. Government should educate the public on making wise choices in nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Also, private charities should be welcomed to help the poor. |
