(India) - 2012-03-15 Society : "Where is usa when a country really needs its help" After 10 years of war in afganistan america has finally decided to draw back empty handed and the same story repeat itself for iraq on which usa attack in search of biological weapons but ended up in leaving it in choas of war. Now in syria, where the help of usa and nato's so called 'guardians of world' is seriously needed, they are ignoring the voilence created by assad and also the murdurs of thousands of innocent people. I strongly believe usa should intervene in this matter. What are your views?

Car la question was only about USA. Antoine, I know very well that we have been saved by many other nations as well. I did not mentionned it, because the question was only about USA.

12722 - Reply from Antoine , 16 y.o. (France) - 2012-04-25 Français : Désolé Régine mais les USA n'ont pas été les seuls à nous venir en aide lors de la 2nde Guerre Mondiale. Il y avait autant de soldats, voire plus de soldats britanniques et des colonies françaises, sans compter les FFL. Donc les USA nous sont venu en aide certes (uniquement pour servir leurs intérêts cela dit en passant) mais, au jour d'aujourd'hui nous ne leur devons plus rien. En ce qui concerne l'Irak, les USA n'avaient rien à y faire, sauf pour mieux contrôler les stocks de pétrole. Les terroristes étaient en Afghanistan, pas en Irak. C'est pourquoi pas mal de pays européens ont refusé d'intervenir en Irak (la France a apposé son veto), mais ont suivi les USA pour l'Afghanistan. En ce qui concerne la Syrie, je pense que l'Union Européenne et les USA devraient intervenir militairement, avec l'accord de l'ONU, car on voit bien que le cessez-le-feu n'est pas opéré. PS : Je pense que tous les états de l'Union Européenne devraient sortir de l'OTAN, nous n'avons plus besoin des États-Unis pour nous défendre. English : Sorry Régine, but there were not only American soldiers to save us during the WW2, there were also lots of British soldiers, French soldiers coming from our colonies, and also Free French Forces. So USA helped us, yes (only to serve their interests by the way ...), but now we oweve nothing to them. Regarding Irak, USA didn't have to go in Irak, they just wanted to control oil stocks. Terrorists were in Afghanistan, not in Iraq, that's why lots of European countries didn't follow USA in Iraq (France put her veto at the UNO), but did for Afghanistan. Regarding Syria, I think that European Union and USA should make a military intervention, with the agreement of the UNO of course, cause currently, that's clear that the cease fire isn't respected. PS : I think that states of European Union should withdraw of NATO, we don't need USA to protect us anymore.

12681 - Reply from Joe , 11 y.o. (UK) - 2012-04-16 The UK asked for help from the Americans in the two world wars, but on some occasions like afganastan they over step the mark of middle man. I think they want revenge on terroist after 9/11 wich i agree with, but I think they should give afganastan some money to compensate for the damage. Certin countries like iraq did need the UN's nation's to come in and see wich side wanted war and wich wanted peace. The one wanting war should be given a chance until millitray power is taken against them to stop inocent deaths

12669 - Reply from Régine , 45 y.o. (France) - 2012-04-01 France had been saved by USA during the two world wars. They sent their soldiers to deliver us. We must not forget this. For Afghanistan, USA and NATO instruct the police and army of this country, to prevent attempts, terrorism. For Irak and Syria, I don't know what to think.
