| Cher Stefan,
Pardon pour cette lettre en anglais mais puisqu'elle était prête, je ne l'ai pas traduite pour gagner du temps!
We have a successful and dynamic exchange program with a long established tradition of hosting and sending students abroad to Spain, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Canada, the USA, Mexico and China.
Here are some details which may help you to familiarize yourself with our school, but I encourage you to visit our website : www.saintmartindefrance.fr
Saint Martin is a coeducational Catholic school with approximately 800 students (from "6ème" to "Terminale", 11-18 years old) of which 300 are boarders.
It was created in 1929 and belongs to the Oratorian congregation.
It is the only school in France (with one exception) which is based on the traditional English Public School system of houses and housemasters.
It is set in a beautiful campus of 33 hectares, and has excellent sporting facilities. The school is 30 kilometres North-West of Paris, and is conveniently located for cultural trips to the Capital.
We are currently looking for a partner school to organize a one-week exchange for a class of 24 13 and 14-year-old students (all day pupils) who are learning English for the third year.
Dates have to be determined, between January and May 2019.
We systematically pair each French pupil to a Swedish pupil according to their personality, interests, etc..., helped by our knowledge of the pupils, the information sheets they have to fill in, and a video presentation.
They also experience family life together since each pupil is received by the same family that hosted (or will host) him/her.
In our exchanges we try to achieve a balance between the experience of a new school system, integration with people and family life, cultural and touristic outings, and, of course, language improvement.
I always ask our pupils to write a diary (in English) to relate their experience which they write during their stay.
Then we read them and reward the 5 first diaries (books, T shirts, etc.). Of course it would be great if your pupils did the same (in French)...
I would be thrilled if you were interested to pursue an exchange with us, in our experience (I have been organizing this type of exchange for 23 years with many different countries) this kind of exchanges have always proved to be a wonderful experience for the students and their families, and many of them, years afterwards, are still in touch...
II really hope to hear from you soon, it would be great to consider a possible date if you feel it is what you are looking for.
If we can fix a date, I would be more than happy to come over and see you in the months to come.
We could share our pupils’ video presentation of themselves, their information sheets, and we could pair the pupils together.
I look forward to hearing from you and would be delighted to establish a link with your school.
Kind Regards
Olivier |
