44701 - from Telemaque (France) - 2012-06-20 Middle school : "Exchange" I am a history/geography teacher currently working at collège Pierre Joannon in St Chamond. I am writing to you about an exchange programme I would like to implement with a Turkish school. > I teach in a small junior high school located near Lyon, in Loire. In France, students are taught about Turkey in History class as well as in Geography class from 6th to 9th grade. Besides, Istanbul has become a multicultural metropolis. There are many cultural treasures to visit. Therefore I think it would be very interesting for our students to come and visit this city. Besides, I want my sutdents to open up to a new culture, to another way of life, that is why I wish I could develop a genuine exchange programme. Indeed, many of them will never have the chance to go out of France. This exchange programme would enable them go abroad, at a reasonable price. We would be delighted to host your students as well, if some of the teachers in your school were willing to participate in this project. I am looking forward to your reply.
