Sammy was so tired that bright, lively morning, having had only a half an hour of sleep (due to thinking about Fantio wolf napping Sky) but he knew what he had to do. He stood up and shook himself, trying to keep himself awake, before gazing up at the orange sun that was looking down on him. "You can do it! You are the first ever wolf-dog," it seemed to be saying. Sammy thought long and hard. He drew a deep breath.
"I can do this. I'll start the quest for Sky!" And he bounded off up the rushing stream.
On the outskirts of the forest the canvas bag that Fantio carried Sky in was laying in a bush. Sammy sniffed it a little. "This'll help a lot. You can carry loads in a bag," Outside the hedge was a big town. Everywhere there were people, carrying bags of shopping, chatting to friends, listening to music...it was a super busy place. Usually a puppy of Sammy's age who had never seen the town before would have been quite surprised maybe even scared, but Sammy was just angry and sad all mixed up. He shuddered at the thought of still being a stray here. It was the worst moment of his life. But the puppy remembered what he was going there for, and that spurred him on. He did his loudest bark. "Adventure, here I come!"
