For a group project in Linguistics, I am currently looking for 15-16 year olds native and non-native speakers of English who would be interested in participating in a few group conversations with other 15-16 year olds. So far we were able to 'recruit' students from Germany, France, Romania, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria. We're desperately looking for native speakers, but non-native speakers are welcome as well as we want to have a broad, diverse group of participants. Of course, you could keep up the contact to the other pupils and use them as tandem partners if you're interested in having convos in English, when you're interested in learning the convo partner's language or if you're already learning his/her language. After having failure we are finally looking for serious and lasting contact. Our idea is to write snail mail letters with students at the age of 10-14. I teach English at a German secondary school. My pupils are in a ninth grade and there are 30 students aged 14-16 years in the class. The students have been learning English for four years now. I would like to do a weblog project with them in September or October. The students (or groups of students) create their own weblogs where they write in English about themselves and other topics they are interested in. It would be great if someone from another country could do the same with his or her class during the same period of time so that the students can get in contact by visiting the other pupils' weblogs where they can exchange information and/or express wishes by writing comments. I would be glad if I could find partner(s) with who I can realize this project. |

Hi, we are a class of 19 students, 12-14 years old, and looking for penpals from all over the world. As we are a "Hauptschule", we only learn English as a foreign language. Thus the communication is limited to English or German. We are kind and cool and have a class teacher who will make us write. Oh, and snail mail would be just fine - although we have internet access.
