I LOVE HORSES. I live on a ranch out west and love to ride. I'm trying to learn all I can about English Riding since I've only ever ridden Western. This may sound weird but I have only ever tro-lopped before. That's what my family calls the faster lengthened trot. I sound so amateur, believe it or not but I've been riding since I was 3 or 4 but only moving cattle or pleasure riding. I'd love to know about English Riding and the movement of a horse when cantering and galloping. |

Hey guys! I truly love horses, I've raised around them my whole life and I would go crazy without them. A few years ago my barn got a rescue horse, his name was Blazing Spirit. He looked nothing like a blazing spirit. Dull chestnut coat, he looked honestly half-dead. I got the task of bringing him back to make him actually look like a horse again. I was pretty much like.. Ok so what do I do with a half deaf horse? He took some time getting used to me, but after a while he learned I wasn't going to hurt him and he began to trust me. Then it became my turn, I was just thinking that he was another horse and I would never see him again. WRONG! I feel head over heels for this horse whom I now call Chevy. Hes now back to a loveable young looking horse with a fire red chestnut coat. His brown eyes full of life. Hes fat aswell, but I dont care because I love him to much. Best part is hes all mine, I will never let this horse go because hes my best friend, my partner in crime, my angel, my life, my Chevy. |

I've been riding for about four years. At first I took lessons every other week, and then I stopped for awhile (they weren't very official; the local horse-owner ((a younger girl)) would give me 30 minute basics). Then at the end of July I'd take a camp, and then I wouldn't touch a horse until next year. But this year has been different. I've been apprenticed to a woman who owns three horses (her daughter has one as well), has a stable and currently has five other horses she takes care of. Besides me and a few others, she runs it all by herself. I work there every Wednesdays and Saturdays (Hopefully more soon enough). I do jobs like oiling saddles, reins, leather, etc. I feed and groom the horses, I do stalls, stack hay, pile sawdust, sweep, groom, etc., etc. and in return I get to go freestyle! On Saturdays I ride a mustang named Blue River (River for short) who likes to run. After all he is a mustang. I love galloping in open fields, but the bottom pasture is not big enough to gallop in one stretch, so we have some sharp turns. And I can truthfully say I have had more then my fair share of falls. Anyways, River and I are a one of a kind team and we're meant for each other. I hope, one day, that he will be mine. |

I love riding :) I ride once in a week. I don't have an own horse, but I ride two Finnhorses. I don't like jumping, I'm a bit scared of it :P I prefer dressage and riding in the forests... It would be nice to meet other horsecrazy people aroung the world :) Is here other people who are scared of jumping? |
