"I'm gonna do it!" squeaked Tealeaf triumphantly. She nudged Pumpkin and gave a hiss of "You do want to be a warrior, don't you?" in his ear. Pumpkin knew that if he wanted to win the bold, bouncy Tealeaf's heart, he needed to pass his apprenticeship, so he gave a little nod. "I will, Coco," he said, holding his head high. Beside him, Tealeaf was shaking and squeaking uncontrolably with excitement. "I can't believe that we could become warriors after this!" she cried. "It'll be brilliant!" "I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you," said Gingerleaf, turning to face Pumpkin and Tealeaf. "Remember what happened to Moonshine, back when the coya attacked?" Pumpkin bit his lip. Nobody had believed him the first time he said he'd smelt coya. Nobody listened to a little runt who was just a waste of space. "Oh, well he was a rubbish apprentice," said Tealeaf. "All he cared for was munching on grass. It wasn't like he was going to live until he was a fully-fledged warrior any way," "Excuse me, Tealeaf, but what were you just saying?" asked Coco, giving Tealeaf a stern look. "I believe that warriors are not meant to whisper insults behind their leader's back," "Sorry, Coco," muttered Tealeaf. "Now, apprentices, I shall take you on a trip around the whole area of the forest that is considered safe, right to the very boundries. You must keep with me and your fellow apprentices at all times, as it is unknown where elil* may be." he turned and trotted off and out of camp, followed by the three excited young guinea-pigs. *Elil is any predators of the guinea-pigs, such as wild dogs/cats, snakes, and birds of prey. |

Here's the prologue of my new story, Running Free - The Guinea-pig Journey: Prologue Crab Apple listened to the whistling trees, his brown and grey coat shining in the moonlight that covered the midnight forest. The bushes whispered of ancient tales that had been passed down through the generation of wild cavies. She licked her lips - they were cold and salty. The air was crisp and the grass was wet with dew. The crumbly earth was damp between the guinea-pig's paws. She shook her head and scampered back into the leafy den. "Anything unusual?" asked a plump, brown boar, twitching his whiskers. "Pumpkin said he though he heard a coya's* call," "I saw no coya, Coco. I believe it was simply a trick of the imagination - it has been a hard day, settling here," Coco thought to himself. The set had travelled a great way from it's original territory, further up the land. Everyone was tired and hungry and young Pumpkin had been shaken up after witnessing a harsh fight earlier that day. "Yes, I think rest would be best for us now. Let's get to sleep." Soon, every guinea-pig in the set was sleeping, curled up in the den, all apart from a little, bright-eyed, young guinea-pig who stuck his rosey pink nose out into the cold. He sniffed hard. "Yes, it's coming close," Pumpkin said under his breath. He turned to face the rest of the set and squealed loudly. "Everyone wake up, quickly!" A mass of furry faces squealed also and the whole bush became alive with wild, terror-struck guinea-pigs. A wild dog stood not far from the den, licking it's lips. *Coya mean wild dog in the language of guinea-pigs, and sounds like coyote. |

Ever since i got my first ever guinea pig when I was about 3 and a half, they have been so playful! And I still have them now! I have about 10 of them and they are sort of a lot of work..... But it's worth it! |

Hi all guinea pig lovers my names Soph and I come from England I have 10 guinea pigs because I had 6 smooth haired Foxy,Robyn,Pip,Squeak,Tilly and Lucy we decided to breed them so we sent Tilly and Lucy to be bred with Hurley the peruvian (long haired) and the the 4 babies were born on 1st of DECEMBER 2010 and there is two girls spin and truffle and 2 boys muffin and spike. Spike and Spin are Abyssinian and truffle and muffin are smooth. They are all gorgeous and very important to me. |

Hello! My name is ZsaZsa and i would love to talk about Guinea Pigs on this forum. I never really go on forums, but this time, if a forum is about guinea pigs, i have to go on there! OMG i love guinea pigs i used to have 2 but one died :( so now i have only one and cant get another cause she doesnt like to share :P shes called Bramble and the one that died was called fern. My gunea pig licks me does anyone elses do that??? xx Emma |
