Cairn Terrier
The traits of this dog is it is always alert ,hardy ,loyal, curious , cheerful, lovable , and friendly. They are very independent but will listen to their humans if they think you our stronger minded . These dogs are fearless and bold and love to dig . These dogs needs mental and physical exercise .they need firm but not harsh training and discipline .They might chase after small wild animals . The height of this male dogs 10 -13 inches and the females height is 9 -12 inches . The weight of the males is 14 -18 pounds and the females weigh about 13 -17 pounds .They do okay in an apartment but you have to exercised . They do okay without a yard .They need daily walks .They live about 12 to 15 years .They need to be brushed several times a week .This dog sheds little or no hair . This dog is native to Scotland . The reason they called the cairn terrier because they could squeeze down in cairns and bark at fox and a badger until the farmer came and shot the animal .Cairns are rock dens where the badgers and foxes lived .The talents are hunting , tracking , go to ground trails , watchdog , agility , competitive obedience , and performing tricks .The group is the terrier group .
