Uzungöl (Long lake in Turkish) is a village and lake situated to the south of the city of Trabzon in Turkey. Over the years it has become a major tourist attraction.
The area is most famous for its natural beauty. Located in a valley between high rising mountains, the lake and village appear innaccessible at first. The surrounding greenery of the mountain forests and the fog that occasionally envelopes the lake at night also add to the mystic scenery of the area. In winter time, the lake freezes over and the entire village can become covered with snow. |
