History


Events
Aboriganal Australians arivved 60,000 yeaars ago. The British came to Sydney in 1788 and started prison colnies. After a vote the colonies joined together and became one nation called the Commonweath of Australia in 1901.

The land were the Sydney Opera House stands now, before that once was home to Port Maquarie. It was build in 1817 and knocked down on 1901. On August 10th 1902, the Port Maquarie tram depot was opend. It was knocked down in 1958. The Sydney Opera House was built on the same spot. The work began in 1959 and the Opera House was open to the public in 1973
.




Geography!!


Most people live on the coast of Australia, where there is alot of jobs, houses and good economy. Lots of people like the clear beaches, and the world famous Sydney Opera House. Alot of places have not alot of population, expecialy in the Outback were it is hot and dry most of the time. Australia is the driest habitable content on earth.

The Outback
The Outback is a very dry place. A popular tourist atraction is Uluru, Ayers Rock. It is located about 280 miles southwest of Alice springs. Alice springs is located almost right in the middle of the Outback.


Woodchucks!!!!!


Food

Woodchucks perfer to eat in the early morning and evening hours. They are herbivores and feed on a variety of vegetables, grasses, and legumes. Preferred foods include soybeans, beans, peas, carrot tops, alfalfa, clover, and grasses.


Habitat
woodchucks prefer open farmland and the surrounding wooded or brushy areas were it is good to build tunnels so they can live in.Woodchucks occur throughout eastern and central Alaska, British Columbia, and most of southern Canada. there is a map that shows the range were they live in


Identification
The woodchuck is a member of the squirrel family It is closely related to other species of North American marmots. It is usually grizzled brownish gray, but albino and black individuals can occasionally be found. The woodchuck’s compact, chunky body is supported by short strong legs. Its forefeet have long, curved claws that are well adapted for digging burrows. Its tail is short, well furred, and dark brown.



Recipies!!!!!!!!!! yumm!!!!!!


Banana Bread

Ingreadients:
1/2 tsp. salt
3 ripe bananas mashed
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarin softend
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix together bananas, margarine, brown sugar, and sugar. Add eggs. Slowly mix in flour mixture until all gone. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Enjoy your banana bread!!!!! :)




Chewy Brownies

Ingreadents
3 eggs beaten
1 c. butter
4 squares unsweetend chocolate
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
1 c. flour
2 c. nuts (optional)

Mix Chocolate and butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add rest of ingredients. Stir well until well blended. pour into 9x13 pan. Bake 30 min. at 350*. let cool. cut into squares, and enjoy!!!:)

sugestion: serve with milk and wipped topping on the brownie
