A Daily Look at My Life. A semi daily look at my life.

Sunday 11/21/2010

Hello everyone!

My name is Lindsey. Some of you know me already because you are my pen-pals for everyone who doesn't this is a blog about my daily life.Let me tell you a little about myself! The first thing that you will probably though hopefully not, notice is that I tend to capitalize randomly specific words. I do it more often when I am hand writing but it does pop up occasionally.

As far as writing goes I have always loved using my imagination. At my house when I was younger we had an old hard wood floor. I remember I use to Rollerblade around on it and tell my mother random stories that I would just make up off the top of my head, my mother always loved it. As I got older I actually started writing the stories down.

A few years after that upon doing some research I found The Institute of Children's Literature. I submitted my own story, I didn't actually think that it was good enough to get accepted. A few weeks went by and I had forgotten all about it. Then one day I went to the mailbox and there was a huge envelope inside, and it had MY name on it! If memory serves me correctly I believe it said "Here are the results of your writing entry."....or something like that. I remember I was so nervous to open it. The letter said that I was accepted and that I should be very happy because of everyone that submits a story only 20% actually make it in.

I started taking the course but unfortunately life got in the way and I never did get to finish. From there there isn't all that much more to tell. I have started several other projects since then and I am currently working on one that I am really excited about. As it stands the title is "Follow the Wind" but that is subject to change.

In general I suppose you could say that I am an average girl, well mostly. I guess to some people I come across as girly but really I'm not. At heart I am a candy raver. http://www.wikihow.com/Be-a-Kandi-Kid-(Girls) (I say at heart because I have never actually been to a rave.) I think this is why they think I am a girly girl, and are really surprised to find that I have (I hate this phrase.) a dark side.

Let me get this out of the way from the beginning. I am (or rather want to be) a Lolita. Please don't let that scare you away. I know a lot of people read Lolita and get creeped out. If you are interested in learning more here is a link that should be helpful. http://lolita-handbook.livejournal.com/3431.html as far as Lolita goes I love all kinds but I tend to gravitate more toward Gothic Lolita than the others.

I like a little bit of every type of music. (Yes even some but very little country.) Mostly I listen to heavy metal. I also like J-pop and K-pop lol I wish I could understand it but I can‘t.

I love anime and I joined an anime club at school though I haven't had any kind of word from them about anything lately. I hope to some day visit South Korea, France, and Ireland. I hope to learn Korean, French and Gaelic someday.

You are probably going to laugh but I love to read YA rated books. I suppose that that comes from my love of fantasy and wonder. I have even been known to read stuff younger than that as well.

Some of my favorite books are: "Redwall" the series haha yes I know but it is just so well written! "Alice in Wonderland", "Through the Looking Glass", "Charlotte's Web" Classic, "The Trumpet of the Swan" and I really like "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, even though I still haven't read it all the way through. If you have never read it before I want to warn you that it has a REALLY LONG AND DRAWN OUT beginning but once it gets going it's wonderful.

Some problems that I have with reading are kinda big actually lol. #1 I tend to read the last page first which drives Ky-Juan nuts. I never read it to him but he still yells at me. I can't help but laugh. #2 I will start a book and even if I like it I will almost never finish it. I don't know why but I will set them down and just never pick them up again. A prime example is "The portrait of Dorian Gray" I read for SO LONG trying to get to the good part and it FINALLY started to get good when I stopped reading it...Some of the only books that I read all the way through were "Redwall" and "Charlotte's Web" and I only finished "Charlottes Web" because we read it as a class in 5th grade.

I smell..... Biscuits.....No make that French Fries...sorry I am writing this in the Bistro at the school.

Some of the books that are on my reading list are..*thinks*..Well to be honest I am going to start the Redwall series over again from the beginning haha. I hope to finish Dorian Gray. Maybe if I start reading it to Ky-Juan before bed I will actually get it done. I want to read "James and the Giant Peach" because I have only ever seen the movie and I want to know how the book differs. Speaking of Roald Dahl I also want to read "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

I love to write letters, and I love collecting the letters that I receive. I would say that I collect stamps but that wouldn't be an entirely true statement. I collect Foriegn stamps. I have stamps from France and South Korea and at one time I had one from Germany but that was a few years ago and I lost it now.

HHMM I think thats it. Keep checking in every so often to see if anything changes. It seems that I change it on an almost daily basis. I suppose if you have any questions you can ask k? I suppose that this is enough for now I will write more later. bbyes!
