Easy way to prevent yourself from passing un-marked ?-Boxes on walks
Sometimes when you're on a walk, you'll notice a present go across the screen at seemingly random times, and there's a chance you won't get it because you weren't paying attention. To prevent this, simply watch the map on the upper screen.

Whenever your dog stops moving on the map, it will either stop to go to the bathroom, or sniff at a spot it previously went to the bathroom at. However, sometimes the dog will not stop on the lower screen, which means that something that isn't marked on the map is about to appear. It will either be some garbage, or an unmarked ?-Box is about to appear.

Basically, if the dog stops moving on the map, but is still moving on the touch-screen, get ready to tug at the dog's leash so that you can pick it up.

Get unlockable breeds easier.
Do Bark Mode with a dog in a breed that you don't have.

Example: Do Bark Mode with a Shih Tzu and after you do Bark Mode with that dog, you will be able to buy the Shih Tzu breed at the kennel.

NOTE: This only works the first time with each different version of the game. So you can do this trick one time with Labrador & Friends, Dachshund & Friends, and any other version of Nintendogs

Eat the lightbulb!
When your dog is learning a command, ex:lay down,roll over. A lightbulb icon appears in the top right corner of the screen. Click on the light bulb and record your command. If the dog accepts the command, a sketchy like lightbulb appears over their adorable little head. Grab the lightbulb with your stylus then drag it to the dogs mouth. And they will EAT THE LIGHTBULB like a treat! This also works with bone icons too.

take a walk anytime!
When going for a walk, go to the park. When you go to the park, change your dog's accessory to anything. The game saves it. When it does, turn off. Start again, and you will be able to go for another walk.

N.B. This is most useful if you keep going through the question marks.

second chance
u want to do a contest but cant because u did 3 contests and lost them all. u have to wait the next day to do it but dont want to. if u save before every contest thats a good thing. if u save, do a contest and lose, just turn off the power and do it again. this way u dont have to wait the next day!

here are some cheats for the new super mario brothers on ds

Play as Luigi in single player mode
At the "select a file" screen, keep pressed L and R buttons and choose one of your saved game files with the A button.
Now you'll play in the game as Luigi instead of Mario!

Secret Challenge Mode
While paused on the map, press L R L R X X Y Y to enter the secret Challenge mode. You will now be unable to go back to an area that has scrolled off the screen while playing a level. This cheat only works after you finish the game.

Save Anywhere
To save your game anywhere on the map screen, beat the final castle in World 8. When you restart, you will have a star next to your save and you'll get the "Save" option added to your menu in the map screen.

Unlock the final background pattern
After you beat the game and collect every star coin on every level, you unlock the final retro mario background theme in the shop for 20 star coins.

The mushroom houses at the start of each world (the point with an arrow at the start) differ determining on the time you get on a stage.

If you get x11, x22, x33 on the timer, a Red Mushroom house appears, which generates items.
If you get x44, x55, x66 on the timer, a Green Mushroom house appears, which is a 1up minigame.
If you get x77, x88, x99 on the timer, a Orange Mushroom house appears, which lets you gain a Mega Mushroom into your inventory, thus overriding anything in it.

Original Mario Bros theme and fireworks
If you beat a level with a time left of x11, x22, x33, x44 etc you get fireworks and the original mario level completion song will play

Extra Lives at Flagpoles
As you may know, jumping onto the flagpole at the stage's end will net you some points (up to 8000). In this game, if you somehow manage to jump high enough and land on the very top of the flagpole, you will automatically receive a 1-Up.

Warp Zone Cannons
In some worlds, there are cannons you can access (usually through taking secret exits). When you enter the cannon area, there will be a large cannon in the area, and a world number written below it. If you want to warp, simply drop into the cannon and off you go! Here is a list of the known warp zones thus far:

World 5 Warp #1: Take the secret exit from the World 1 Tower.

World 5 Warp #2: Take the secret exit from Stage 2-A.

World 6 Warp: Take the secret exit from the World 3 Ghost House.

World 7 Warp: Take the secret exit from the World 4 Ghost House.

World 8 Warp: Take the secret exit from the World 5 Ghost House.

here are some cheats for brain age.

Hold the select button while choosing Brain Age Check. Dr. Kawashima will say that you have entered the Brain Age Check selection menu. This allows you to choose the order of the Brain Age Check tests.

Hold select while tapping the "Graph" menu item. View the top 3 lists for every training activity as well as the brain age check activities.

Sudoku Advance Mode. Complete Intermediate puzzle in less than 15:00

If u want Dr. Kawashima to do something funny at the title screen, say "glasses, glasses" into your mic.

Unlockables

Ability to Evolve your Pokemon
To gain the ability to evolve your pokemon you must beat Rayquazza. After you have beaten Rayquazza and the credits have rolled, you will gain access to Luminous Cave which is found at Whiscash Pond just north of the Pokemon Square. There will be a commotion in Pokemon Square prompting you to go there and learn about evolution. Then the next time you try to leave and go on any mission, your partner will stop you and tell you how to change leaders and travel using just one pokemon. Enter Luminous Cave with just the pokemon that you wish to evolve. The pokemon that you are evolving must meet the required level for evolution and in some cases might need an item such as a moon stone or sun stone. A link cable can also be used. To check if your pokemon is capable of evolution, check it's summary page and under evolution it will be Possible, Not Now, or Not Anymore.

To get higher ranks, get the required amount of Rescue Points.

Glitches

Instant Max Drive
If you want you drive bar maxed, all you have to do, is, Go to the Underworld tournament. Talk to Panic, after talking to him, A screen of all Tournaments pop up.

Go to any one, and once you enter the first battle, Your Drive Bar will be completely filled. Pause, and select quit. When you leave, your bar is still full.

This will help you level up forms and summons quicker.

Also, if you return to the world map while in a drive form you will have a full drive gauge.

Quick Summon/Form Levelling
In Space Paranoids, just use any form or summon, and let the form/summon meter count down until it's almost gone. Then, immediately board the Solar Sailer. Your form/summon will be cancelled, but your drive gauge will be returned to its original state. Ride the Solar Sailer, then use the form/summon again. After the ride is over, head back and all of the enemies will return. Repeat until forms and summons are maxed. Obviously, this will not work for Final Form, since there aren't any Nobodies in Space Paranoids, but the other forms and the summons can be levelled freely, without any pesky drive-gauge refilling. It's possible that this trick works in other areas, too, but I have not explored it (the Black Pearl is an idea though).

Also, to level summons specifically, the experience counter seems to increment when the summon meter ticks down a notch. If your timing is good, try to kill enemies with drive orbs right when the meter is going to drop a level. If you can keep the meter almost full as you collect the orbs, you can make it oscillate between two numbers, netting extra experience for your summons. With this, you can get over 30 exp every time you use a summon.

Crown Showdown: Unlock atlast one minigame in the 4 player, 1 vs. 3 player, 2 vs. 2 minigame and Duel minigame categories.
Flip Out Frenzy: Unlock atleast one 4 player minigame.
Test For The Best: Unlock this mode in the Fun Bazaar.
Tic Tac Drop: Unlock atleast one Duel minigame.
