Peer Pressure

Peer pressure can be bad, but it can also be good. There are many different types of per pressure. Read below to find out more information about them.

Bad Peer Pressure

Bad peer pressure is when you have that feeling like maybe I should and maybe I should't. Let's say a kid says,"Hay, I got some drugs I found, wanna have some?" and you reply,"No." Then they say,"Come on don't be such a wimp, what are you five? Still listening to your mommy and daddy, come on take a chance. Try it" Then you reply,"I am not a wimp and I am not five, I am smart." That is bad peer pressure, when they are telling you things to make you feel bad to try to trick you into it. I know it seems like if you don't you are the biggest baby ever, but you aren't you are a safe cool kid/teen. Sometimes they may scare you, and no matter what type of peer pressure, never fall into the trap, always get adults help right away!!!!! Here is an example of threatening peer pressure. Lets say anotther kid says,"Yo dude, I found this in some trash can, want some?" and you reply with teh right answer, "NO!!!!!" Then they say,"You better try this or I am going to beat you up after school! You will be so hurt you won't be able to move, but I won't do any of that if you try this" and you say "NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!" Now maybe they would say,"I will spread rumors thats you are dating one of those nerds!!!!!" And of course you keep saying no. But sometimes doing the right thing can suck. You don't want to have toehrs think you are going out with someone you aren't, you don't wanna be beat up, but you don't wanna be an adults' pet. Put you aren't, you are being the most smartest, coolest kid ever for not falling into the trap, running away, and getting adults help!!!!!

Good Peer Pressure

Good peer pressure is like when your parents keep telling you to do your homework. It is also when they say,"Your room better be clean by tomorrow or else you are grounded." And no, it seems like horrible peer pressure! LOL! But it's not, that is not threatening peer pressure, that is called "good parenting!" So remember that not all peer pressure is bad.

Rumors

"Julie is dating Zac!" Ashley says.

"NO I AM NOT!" Julie says after her friend tells her what Ashley said.

"Everyone thinks you are dating Zac!" Lilly, her BFFL, replies.

"OMG!!!!!! NO!!!! I so totally hate Ashley!!!!!!!" Julie tells Lilly.

Yup, that's a rumor. It happens. It can start in third grade. And in fourth and fifth grade it never seems to end. Rumors hapen no matter where you are, especially with celebrities. And you know how sometimes you tell your loud can't-keep-their-mouth-shout-shut type of friend something you heard, and even if you tell her a secret, she tells others who tell tohers and oventully everyonehas heard. That is a rumor. ANd you can start one that easily. Starting one is easy, but having to deal with a rumor about you is not. Lets say you have a boyfrienda nd you two like eachtoehr and you are doing great, then the popular I-am-better-than-you girl says you are dating a geek, then you and your boyfriend break up and everyone thinks you are crazy because he was captain of the football team? Well yeah that sucks, so, if a rumor starts about you, DO NOT let it bother you, tell those who are connected and started it that you will tell an adult unless they tell the truth right away. Rumors are the worst. They make you feel SO horrible! They make you feel like you don't even know who you are because of what tohers are saying, but you know, who cares what they say, who cares what they think, it doesn't matter what they say OR think, it matters about what you know. NEVER start a rumor, and ignore, and if it gets bad tell and adult. A rumor is a stupid lie that means absolutely nothing.

Smoking

Uh huh, everyone is trying to look "cool" and they are smoking. Do you wanna know what a cigarette is? It is a drug. It can kill you, because a lot of times you get lung cancer, and that never means good. Sometimes you turn out fine, but other times you don't. Smoking is SO gross. Okay no one likes fire right? And fire is smokes sibling. So, smoking. Get it? Yeah, well it's not funny, at all. Smoking is serious and dangerous! What does smoking do for you? Nothing! Never try it so you never get addicted and never have to try to quit. Because when you get addicted to nicotine, it's hard for you to quit, then you do it longer, so you probaly will get lung cancer. Think about others around you, do they want to smell smoke everyday? NO!!!!! So don't smoke, if you catch someone who is too young to be doing it, tell an adult, make sure you let the adult kow not to give out your name though. DO NOT ever smoke!!!!!

Dating

Oh yeah, it's coming. Where you want to date. But here are some reasons kids, as young as 8, want to date, they think a lot of times because older kids do it, that they look older. Umm, HELLO! You don't. Okay, ummmm, we are like not even 12 OR 13!!!!! What do we do on a date, drawa picture of a puppy????? And kissing!!!!!! EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting!!!!! I do't care how muchure you think you are, or that you are, but we shouldn't be kissing. We are kids. Lets have fun! PLay outside, watch TV, get on the computer, play a board game, hang out with friends, or even go to the mall. But dating is gross. Why say your dating, do you even know what dating IS! Dating is where you kiss and hug, and go out to the movies, just the two of you, ALONE. So, we are too young to even TRY to do that. So why say you are dating when you are obvisouly not!!!!! Just say you are best friends, that really is all it is until you get like 14 or 15!!!!! Just because others are, which they shouldn't be, doesn't mean you should! Untily ou are 12 or 13, you should date or sya you are dating!!!!!

Friends

"Hay, did you know someone started a rumor about you? It is like, about how you aredating a nerd, isn't that like funny because it is SO untrue!!!!!" Katie told Layla.

"I am," Layla replied.

"But you are like popular! Are you crazy, hello, he is an ugly nerd!" Katie said.

"NO he is not! Maybe you think that, because you ALWAYS judge a book by it's cover! OMG! I can't beleave you!!!!! Can't you learn how to judge people by what's inside not what's on their outside?!?!?" Layla replied.

Oh yeah, friend fights. You can try to avvoid them, but they happen every once in a while no matter what!!!!! Sometimes you muchure before or after your friends. Which sometimes can be hard. Like how Layla realized that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. And Layla still thought if you were popular that you should date the captain of the football team????? Layla muchured faster. That brings a lot of fights usally. But you can't let that break up your friendship! Instead of yelling and saying mean things to your BFFL, because you have muchured faster, and lets say she still judges a book by it's cover, just talk it out. Tell her why not to judge a book by it's cover, but jsut do it in a nice friendly way. Don't yel at your friends, when you do, they feel horrible, and then the yell back and you feel horrible,a nd then you have no one to talk too. That's why you need to be friendly with your friends. I know sometimes you REALLY want to yell, but you can't.
Never yell at your BFFL(s), just talk it out!!!!!

This happens a lot too. A group of 3 best friends.

"Come on Julie, you agree with me right?!?!?" Jenna asked Julie.

"No come with ME Julie! You know I am right and she is SO wrong!!!!! Carrie asked Julie.

"Ummmm, uhhhhhhhh," replied Julie.

Okay, if you have 2 best friends, and one of your BFFLs and you have a fight, it is natural to want someone else on your side. That is when your other BFFL who had nothing todo with it comes in. She likes both of you, and she doesn't want to pick sides. But you tell her she has to, or you will hate her. I remember when I was like in 2nd and 3rd grade. I had to BFFLs. I remember picking one side, when I didn't even know what the fight was abou, and I remember one of my BFFLs picking my side, and picking my other BFFL I was having a fight withs side. So if you do have a little friend fihg, never pick or make someone pick a side. That is just breaking up another friendship! I mean seriously, that makes you feel horrible not to pick both of their sides, and it makes you feel horrible hwen one of your BFFLs doesn't pick your side!!!!! So don't ever, and never make, your BFFL(s) pick sides!!!!!
