The green haired girl with ponytails is Hatsune Miku. The yellow haired twins are Kagamine Rin and Len. The light pink haired woman is Megurine Luka. The dark pink haired girl is Kasane Teto.
Ohayo!
Who hear listens to music they do not understand a word of?
*crickets*
The character songs of Yuki Nagato (from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), especially Mebius, sound very good, as well as Blood Teller and Kuusuo Mesorigiwi from the anime Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) along with other anime openings, but I can only pick up small words like kokoro, doki doki, desho, konichiwa, watashi wa, kudosai etc, but I don't know if the meaning stays the same in every context or if the English translate switches out words.
Anyways, I want to introduce, Vocaloids.
Crypton Future Media created a singing synthesizer program using voice banks to create songs, primarily in Japanese. Vocaloids are the names of the official voice banks, notable being Hatsune Miku, Kaito, Meiko, Kagamine Rin and Len, Megurine Luka, and I think Gackupo/Gackt. Utauloids, from what I understand, are fanmade computer singers, such as Kasane Teto, and Ruko Yokune. Also from what I understand, "ne" in their last names means sound.
Their songs are home made, so to speak, so the quality from song to song can vary from a speak and spell machine to mistaking the singer for a live person! That being said, I'm going to write up a list of songs and their singers that you should listen too. Vocaloid songs cover all genres in both music and their PVs (picture video) but due to the nature of this website, I will refrain from videos that show graphic material. I am not responsible if you trip along one of those videos though! However, that's not to say those songs aren't good.
===Almost all Vocaloids - This either means that the song has been redone with a lot of covers, or that multiple vocaloids are used
~Love is War/Koi wa sensou
~Magnet
~Butterfly on your Right Shoulder
~Witch - Multiple Vocaloids are used, however the main singer is listed as Megurine Luka.
~Imitation Black - Gackt/Len/Kaito
~Po pi po - A novelty song about vegetable juice.
~Meltdown - I think this one was started by Rin
~Trick and Treat - Rin and Len. A Halloween Duo!
~Baka Baka Baka - This is Nero, Teto (both utauloids) and Miku singing in either a short, fully animated video or a longer PV.
===Hatsune Miku - While there are some songs of her singing in Engrish, I believe she is solely intended for Japanese.
~Love is War/Koi wa sensou - This is one of the most popular vocaloid songs out there with a plethora of remixes, covers done by other vocaloids and fandubs. This is listed for Miku because as far as I know, she is the original to have sung this.
~Love is War Pandora Mix - Listen to this if you love a good scream!
~Melt - One of her original songs.
~Miku's Head exercises - A novelty song
~Francium - A fast paced novelty song
~The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku - A very fast paced song. Very popular
~Tower of Sunz - I recommend the long version.
~Rolling Girl - The PV, which can be found on Youtube, is quite interesting.
~Persona Alice
~World is Mine
~Lynne
===Kagamine Rin/Len - Rin and Len are either depicted as twins, two sides to a mirror (Right and Left Respectively) as a couple (if it fits, it ships. if it doesn't fit, it ships anyways). The internet flame wars are high with this one, but it goes from song to song.
~Love is War Eager Love Revenge - This remix is a bright comparison to Pandora.
~Kokoro - Kokoro means heart in Japanese, but I don't know if the song will be listed anywhere under the English translation.
~Meltdown
~I like you I love you - I myself have not sat down long enough to listen to this, but it keeps popping up in the recommended videos section. Tell me if Chucky or It pop out in the middle. Or a hand. Ren can be known for that.
===Kaito - Kaito is one of my favorite vocaloids, but his songs are either a hit or a miss. His Love is War covers never seem to make it in the spotlight because his scream is too weak. Anyways...
~Rolling Girl - A cover from Miku's song, and an incredibly awesome one at that.
~World is Mine - There is an MMD (MikuMiku Dance) video on youtube of the cover, another song originally by Miku. Again. Awesome. Actually, I shouldn't say awesome. It's FABULOUS.
~There's a lot more I'm just forgetting everything because that's what I do to him. :B
===Megurine Luka - Her last name reminds me of butter... She's a multi, or maybe just bi, lingual vocaloid, and my top favorite.
~The Last Queen - Find this on youtube. Her voice is amazing!
~Secret - Sung in English, but depending on how you view the lyrics, you may not be allowed to watch. It's all interpretation.
~Just be Friends - This song is popular. I myself do not think it is all that, but there was a K-on remix that made me like it. The rest of the internet will probably recommend this.
This is by no way a complete list. Most of the vocaloid songs are on Youtube, and if you can, go to NicoNico video. I haven't been to the NicoNico site, but many of the vocaloid videos come from there.
If you want to avoid "disturbing" songs, DO NOT LOOK UP or PRESS ON THE TITLES "Fear Garden" "Rakasha and Carcasses" "Kagome/Kakome" "Alice Human Sacrifice" "Scisserloid". Again, this is not all that is out there.
That being said. This a list of information. It is depends on you on how to use it.

"Hey it's alright my life has never been a Bed of Roses, this way's better for me..."
That's from Mindless Self Indulgence's song "Bed of Roses". Now, I say it's by MSI, but this was from one of Jimmy's, the lead singer, early albums before the rest of the band came in. One of my other songs that I like is "Kick" but if you do not like to listen to profanity I do not recommend it.
Other music that I do recommend is Parov Stelar and his song Catgroove (COCO Ep) and Chambermaid Swing. My mom would call that "Very jazzy"! There is also Bibio, which I think is kind of related to Stelar in sound, and their songs "Sugarette", "Cry! Baby!" and "Feminin Eye."
If you're more into techno like stuff, there are different genres you can dive into, like trip hop, glitch hop, 8 bit, house, and dub step. Trance is okay, but there's not a lot I know about that. Most every song has a trance remix of some sort.
Trip hop: Fatboy slim and his songs "Right here, Right now", "Gangsta Trippin", and "Funk Soul Brother"
Glitch Hop: The glitch mob "dream within a dream" "Drive it like you Stole it."
EdiT "Ants" "Twenty Minutes"
8 bit: Your local Gameboy! (haha)
Crystal Castles "Year of Silence" "Air War (and most of the remixes)" "Magic Spells"
House:
Daft Punk! "Around the World" "Technologic" and most of their songs from the album "Homework"
Deadmau5: I don't know if he's called house... but "15 minutes" "Raise your weapon" "Ghosts n stuff"
Try to listen to any of these songs even if you listen to completely different stuff, you might like or you might not, you never know, but you can make educated guesses. Enough with the hypothesis, though. On to the experiment!
Most of the music can be found on youtube.
