.Daniel Alan David Jones, commonly known as Danny Jones (born March 12, 1986 in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England) is one of the lead vocalists and guitarists in the British pop band McFly, along with fellow band members Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. McFly rose to fame after former band Busted helped launch them by inviting them to tour in March 2004. Danny entered McFly after he read an advert in the magazine NME in 2002 where Tom was requesting for a guitar player. Danny went to the audition and got to meet Tom. The same day of the audition they started writing some lyrics with ex-Busted, now Son of Dork's James Bourne.
.Danny's hometown is Bolton, and he is an avid supporter of Bolton Wanderers F.C.. He went to Thornleigh Salesian College and was taught music by a Mr. Martin. He grew up with his mother Kathy, his father Alan and older sister Vicky (who is one year his senior), who was on TV show Steps To The Stars with him in 2000, with their band Y2K. Danny on guitar, Vicky singing, and their friend Chris on keyboard. Y2K performed "Thank You" by Alanis Morissette and came 2nd.
.In McFly, Jones has co-written on all three albums, Room on the 3rd Floor, Wonderland, and Motion in the Ocean, with his fellow band members. Danny has penned 3 of his own tracks one from each of the 3 albums, "Not Alone"(Room on the 3rd Floor), "Don't know why"(Wonderland), and "Walk in the Sun"(Motion in the Ocean)
.Jones' favourite male singers are Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and The Who. His first gig was a Bruce Springsteen gig and he has said that his mother got him interested in him. Danny also says that his uncle Andy influenced him to play guitar when he was just 5. Other bands/artists who have influenced Danny along the years include Kelly Joe Phelps, Isaac Guilory, Paul Buckley, and "all the other legends.
.Jones has claimed that as a rule he's tried to live his life treating others as he wishes to be treated. There were once rumours going around that Danny wished to leave McFly to pursue his solo career. However, the band categorically denied this, with Danny saying that McFly was 'in his blood' and that he wouldn't want to leave anyway because it is his dream job. Danny once said in an interview that he will still be in McFly when he is 60.
.Danny Jones also appeared in the teen comedy film Just My Luck starring Lindsay Lohan along with the rest of McFly. They played themselves in the movie as their band trying to make it big in America. The movie hit cinemas in the United States on May 12, 2006, and the United Kingdom on June 30, 2006.
