A Little Bit of History about ABC SCHOOL.

Conocida como ABC School, abril sus puertas el 6 de enero del año 2003 en la ciudad de Nandaime; dirigida por su dueño Marlon Gutierrez un Granadino nativo con mucho entusiasmo en la enseñanza del idioma Ingles; posteriormente inicia su apertura en Granada una de las ciudades mas hermosas, turistica, pacifica, y antigua de Nicaragua. ABC School se ha caracterizado por su buena labor como centro de enseñanza bilingue al contar con un personal altamente calificado tanto nicaraguense como extranjero especializado en el campo EFL/ESL, y principalmente por la ayuda que brinda a la poblacion de bajo recursos economicos. ABC School ademas de ser un centro de enseñanza del idioma Ingles, tambien imparte clases de español para extranjeros, y al mismo tiempo capacita a sus estudiantes en la instruccion de guias turisticos y traduccion. ABC School se encuentra ubicada en calle El Consulado de la iglesia Xalteva 1 cuadra al norte 1/2 al oeste, casa No. 519.

Known as ABC School opened its doors in the year 2003 in the city of Nandaime; ran by his owner Marlon Gutierrez a native Granadino passionate by the English teaching; It was set up later in Granada; one of the most beautiful, turistic, peaceful and oldest cities in Nicaragua. ABC School has been characterized by its good work as a bilingual teaching center. It is formed by highly qualified teachers from both Nicaragua and abroad who are specialized in the field EFL/ESL teaching. The school´s main priority is to help poor Nicaraguans with no means of support. At the same time we offer training for our English students in becoming tour guides or translators. ABC School, besides being a center for English language teaching, also offers one-on-one Spanish language classes tailored to suit individual requirements. ABC School is located at No.519 Consulado Street, from Xalteva church a block to the North, 1/2 block west.

EFL and ESL Teaching Positions.
Immediate openings. More openings throughout the year.

Benefits: These are semi volunteer positions.

New computers with high-speed Internet available at the school.
Average class size is 10 students. Maximum class size is 15.

Qualifications and Experience: Native English speakers. We teach with an emphasis on North American English. Some Spanish is very helpful. Spanish instruction is available. 3 month minimum commitment.

ABC School General Information: We currently have 6 classrooms and 400 students. Our mission is to provide Granadinos with skills to compete in the tourism job market, and to own / operate their own businesses. Our fees are very reasonable. Our teachers love teaching and are enthused about improving the educational and employment opportunities for the people of Granada. We provide excellent teaching materials. We have CD players, TV, DVD/VCR player, white boards, desks, and a very clean, well-maintained, freshly painted building. The building is not air-conditioned. Our school is clean, friendly, supportive, and filled with motivated, interesting, appreciative Granadinos who are eager to learn English. Most of our students are age 16 to 50. We have 20 students age 6 to 12. We teach one-hour classes of conversational EFL - ESL from 3pm-8pm, M-F. New classes start every month. We have three hour classes on Saturdays and Sundays. We teach 12 months a year. ABC SCHOOL also offers Spanish classes for foreigners as well as translation services. The average length of EFL,ESL teaching experience by our Granadinos teachers is over seven years. Most of our native speaking EFL, ESL teachers have several years of EFL,ESL teaching. Most of them have a TEFL or equivalent certification. We occasionally have EFL,ESL experts who visit us for a month, to advise the school and mentor our teachers.

ABC School Accreditation: on September 12th 2007, ABC School received accreditation from INATEC, the Nicaraguan government educational agency overseeing technical and vocational training.

Businesses and universities recognize the INATEC English certificate when making hiring, promotion and enrollment decisions. ABC School is a legal, non-taxed, educational company recognized by the Nicaraguan government.

The owner Marlon Gutierrez a (native Granadino) of ABC School, is passionate about providing Granadinos with a means to compete in a growing tourist industry and a global economy. We are a school run in a professional way. We provide with scholarships to people who are very poor, nowadays 40% of our students have scholarships. ABS School just opened a branch on February 25th 2012, that focuses on helping people near the Granada area offering scholarchips. We gladly accept any donation to support scholarships and material for our students with no means of support.
