Welcome to the Unoffical St.Francis Website.

MISSION STATEMENT: Here at St. Francis, we strive as a partnership of school, family and parish, to provide our students with a quality, Catholic education enabling all to grow to their potential. It is our objective to develop the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and physical talents of each student in an atmosphere of Catholic faith. We are here to educate each precious student for life, not merely to impart knowledge and skills. We help every child to achive thier goals and interact with other students to improve thier social skills. We have special programs so students can intreact with eachother.
Principal's Message

The staff of St. Francis would like to welcome you to this wonderful school. Our goal is to improve each and every student spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. This will allow for each child to reach their potential as best they can with our support. We all look forward to working cooperatively with you as partners to meet the needs of your child. Remember that you are the primary educators of your children. Our partnership with you is vital to your child succes.
Our school promotes excellence in religion, literacy, numeracy, technology and social skills based on the Ontario Curriculum from the Ministry of Education. We have created a student handbook that outlines for you all the necessary procedures that will help provide a safe, caring and organized learning environment for all who pass through our doors. As well, the handbook will be used as an agenda book for you, your child and teacher which will help in organizing and planning on a daily and monthly basis. Hope you enjoy the Catholic faith information that has also been included. Students will receive their handbooks at the beginning of the new school year.
Special initiatives at St. Francis include the following programs: Breakfast, Clothing, Milk, Mentoring, Environment, VIP, Life Skills and Physical Fitness . As well students participate in the following school activities: Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Track and Field, and Houseleagues. Students in grade 6-8 have access to Instrumental Music.
We have a new Houseleague program this year. We had it years ago but we decided to start it up again. Each student and teacher are picked 1 out of 4 of the houselegue colours: Orange,Purple,Green and Blue. Students earn points for there team by playing diffrent sports for thier colour, doing good deeds, doing homework etc. At the end of the year, the team who has the most points win the Lancer Cup. The wiining team gets a free lunch and parade. All our students are very happy about this. It helped develop new friendships and intteract with people they never interacted with before. It's like there family away from home.
