Hi I am Hermie. Check out my blog! I'm Hermie and I have 8 pets. I have 3 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, 1 rabbit, 2 hermit crabs, and sea monkeys. They are all very awesome!!!!!

HERMIT CRABS ARE SO COOL! SWEET & SMALL, THEY MAKE A VERY COOL PET.

Here is a family tradition that my family does every Christmas. We all get in our Jeep(around the time when it starts getting dark) and drive around to other neighborhoods to look at peoples' Christmas lights. We have been doing this for many years now and it is a lot of fun. There is always someone's house that is more decorated than others and we love to see those the most. This is a wonderful tradition that I know will continue for many years to come.

County schools are facing major budget cuts. Teachers’ salaries are being frozen and class sizes will be growing. Are you a sports fan? Well, because of these budget cuts some Prince William County schools will either eliminate or require you to pay a fee if you want to participate in sports. Are you still not sure what you want to be when you grow up? Well, there is a possibility that they will get rid of electives in high school so it may be harder for you to find out what you really want to be.

This concerns me because I personally am indecisive on a career. By the time I get to high school and want to take an elective to help me on my decision they will no longer be available all because of the budget cuts. Do you see how this one action can affect so many of us in the future? You know how so many people are complaining about childhood obesity? Well if we get rid of sports then there is a large possibility that there will be more of it because more children will be less active. As you see, budget cuts are not only going to effect teachers, but will also have a larger affect on students now and in the future.

We could help this situation by getting rid of trailers that many schools in Prince William County have. Most of the time these trailers are rented by schools which is more money that must be paid. Another thing that would help would be if instead of building more fast food places, restaurants, and stores, they could use that money towards the schools. During an economic crisis like we have now, every decision we make can and will have a major affect on people now and in the future, and that is why it is so important for us to make the right decision for our county and our schools.

If I could interview anyone I would interview Abraham Lincoln.
Here are the 5 questions I would ask him.

1. Why did you want to become president?
2. How was your life as president(talk about your family, lifestyle, responsibilities as a president, friends)?
3. In my opinion I think you were a great president, but do you think you were a good president? Why?
4. What was your life like as a child?
5. If you were alive today, how would you help us in our economic situation?

One of my "pet peeves" is when people borrow my things and don't give them back, or if they do give them back they are in worse condition than before. A time this happened was when I lent a pencil to someone in one of my classes and when I went to get it back they said they had lost it and I never got it back. I was very mad because that was one of my favorite pencils. Also one time in 5th grade I was absent and someone in my class took the pencil out of my desk and used it. The next day when I got back the pencil was messed up. In the end I forgave him though and kept the pencil because it was special to me.

I think the biggest problem facing teens is their weight. Many people, especially teens, are worried about their weight and most of them think they are fat or overweight. Every day we see comercials and shows that all have to do with loosing weight; whether it be with diet supplumets, diet drinks(powders, mixes, etc.), or exercise equipment. I think this is a large influence on many of those people. Even people who are not overweight think that they are mostly because others(mean people) tell them that they are. Eerybody is different and people should accept themselves the way they are and not worry about what other peple think about them.

I think that the most important invention to society has been the toilet. I thin this is the most important invention because it is a much easier and more convenient way to use the bathroom. It has helped everyone in almost everywhere and is much cleaner than going to the bathroom in an outhouse. They are in almost all houses and are very convenient to everyone.

Nine eleven(September 11) is significant because it made a major impact on our country. Many peoples lives were taken during this tragic incident. What makes it news is that many people died. Also the twin towers were like a "landmark" but collapsed from the suicide bombers' planes. It was also major news because the people in the planes were terrorists determined to impact our country in a negative way.

To me, my 22 year old brother , Michael, is the person who has had a positive influence in my life. He has done so because to me he is a wonderful role model. He is funny and intelligent and is always there when you need him. Even at an out-of-state college, he still helps us all with any of our problems whether it be via e-mail or phone. He is a wonderful person, a wonderful role model, and a wonderful brother.

5 News Topics I would be Interested in Writing About and Why...

1. Why Prince William County schools do not have enough money... because it affects us(the students, parents, and staff) directly.

2. Problems and/or issues teens in our school have... because if those issues are addressed to the school then we may be able to help solve these issues.

3. Sports- Why they want to get rid of them in schools or why you have to pay a large amount of money just to join a team... because we need sports so we can stay fit and healthy. Also not everyone who wants to be on a team can afford to do so so they won't join.

4. Survey type article about students

If I could go back in time, the era I would visit would be the 80's. I would go back to visit the 80's because that was the era that my oldest brother was born in. I would also do so because I think they had great music in the 80's and you could hear more of it more of the time. They also had great trends like big hair which was so cool!
