SKULL CULT
In the west region of cameroon, precisely in BAKOU capital of a sub division of "HAUT NKAM"(BAFANG),the villagers there still worship or venerate skulls.According to them, this is the direct link between them and the departed ones. When a member of a given family dies, the delay of at least 5 years is given to the skull to be ready.Within this time,"THE TREE OF PEACE"is planted on the tomb,an the date for funerals fixed. On due time, the skull will be removed from the grave by initiated old men,and placed in the family'S HOUSE OF SKULL WHERE VARIOUS FAMILY MEMBERS CAN GO AND PRESENT THIER RESPECTS.

TRADITIONAL MEDICINE:
In Africa, because people are still very much enrooted to thier culture, and as it demands, one will seek traditional herbs first before anything.in this part of the blog,i want to bring to you all some traditionnal drug formulas used in some disease conditions.
1)typhoid fever,malaria,yellow fever:
a)Look for a pawpaw tree, collect about 200-300g of root bulbs, wash and boil in fresh and clean water for about 30 minutes.Use a sifter to collect the juice, and add 03 limes juice and honey to it,take one glass 03 times per day for 03-04 weeks.
WEEK'S TOPIC:
I)THE PROBLEM OF UNITY IN AFRICA:case study of the cameroonian contex
Today, cameroon counts about 258 sub-divisions,early called districts. This means 258 tribes,in which we find varities of maternal languages.Till today, globalisation have not had any effect on customs and traditions of the people, and most of african countries hardly have official languages, and if they do,we still find in primary schools, and even in nuseries, pupils discussing in thier various tribe languages. It is like an undetachable dot in thier brains that:our culture is our first identity.
This has posive aspect as the image of a given country is brightened, but also, some desastrous effects on the building of national unity in willing and hard working countries.Who says 17.000.000 inhabitants, and about 1500 maternal languages in the democraty of a thriving country,is like saying that one man, that's the president, should rule individualities,or find the perfect equilibrum between the needs of eveery body. You can also compare this stressful situation to the one of somebody walking on eggs without breaking them.Solutions here in cameroon are:national intergration, decentralisation,in such a way that everybody's concerned in building national unity.

TRADITION AND RELIGION:
In Africa, there is a distinct gap between tradition and religion. We can even say that people here worship two gods:the gods of thier ancestor, and the almighty God.To say to which one of them they are very much attached,i will personally say the ancestors because thier primary preference in terms of spiritism, occultic treatment, protection and binding of evil spirits,is to the ancestral gods.To please the society,or to do as others,we go to churches, sing, dance, wear our most beautiful dresses and receive sacraments which we know nothing about.IN FACT,IT'S LIKE TRADITION IN AFRICA,IS A VERY BIG ISLAND SURROUNDED BY VERY LITTLE WATER OF MODERNISM.One good example is the one of president BARACK OBAMA himself, going back to his roots.
