One scary experience was when I broke my arm. I had some old friends visiting. I fell and tried to catch myself but heard a loud crack. I looked at my arm and screamed, but I dont want to go into a lot of detail. The next day we all went to Mount Vernon, me with a temporary cast.

New Year's resolutions:

Find time to practice basketball on weekends, meet with friends or play at mom's school.

Learn to eat more vegetables, may have to force myself.

Get a more organized homework folder, buy a new one and try not to over stuff it.

If I had to give up one of my senses, it would probably be my sense of smell. I honestly don't know how much I even need my smell. I could handle not smelling good things and would be glad not to smell bad stuff. Also, it would just be too hard to live without the other 4 senses.

Last Friday, Terry A. Johnson stole a vehicle and used it in an attempt ram a police cruiser. Johnson was trying to evade police, but the officer dodged the car and Johnson crashed through a fence. When he and his partner James Guess tried to escape on foot, Guess was arrested and Johnson was later found hiding under his bed in his Dale City home.

The picture above shows the country of Haiti. This picture was taken before the massive 7.0 earthquake struck the capital Port Au Prince. Up to 200,000 are expected to have died, and there are countless injuries. Millions of people are completely homeless. Countries have been trying to send help, with search and rescue units from all over the world.
The US has sent a hospital ship from the Navy out into the water around Haiti. People will be taken by helicopter to the ship while there is still confusion about how to get people out of the country. There is one airport, but there is so much chaos surrounding it that creating an evacuation plan is nearly impossible.

Most kids stay in school as long as they need to. For the very few dropouts, there is not much that can be done. Schools should just try to make their environments as fun as possible. Many kids are simply overwhelmed by homework. Teachers should never be hard enough on kids to make them drop out. There should be at least one fun, easy class every day.

Most parents get along with their kids very well. Those who dont may need some advice. Sometimes kids want to be left alone and just do their own thing. They should try not to pressure kids into doing something they dont want to. Usually when kids and parents don't get along, its not either ones fault.
