Alyson Renae Michalka (born on March 25, 1989) is an American actress and singer. She is perhaps best known for her role as Keely Teslow in the Disney Channel Original Series, Phil of the Future and as one-half of the musical duo Aly & AJ with her sister Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka.
Early life
Alyson Michalka was born in Torrance, California to Mark Michalka and Carrie Begley. Michalka and her sister, Amanda Joy Michalka (who is two years younger), lived and grew up in Seattle, Washington. Michalka has been playing the piano since she was six and started playing the guitar at the age of thirteen. She started acting when she was five years old, mostly in church productions. She was raised and is a practicing Christian.[
Career
Michalka's acting debut came when she was cast in the role of Keely Teslow on the Disney Channel Original Series, Phil of the Future. She has also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movies Now You See It..., in which she plays Allyson Miller, an ambitious television producer, and Cow Belles, in which she appears opposite her sister, Amanda.
Michalka and her sister comprise the musical duo Aly and AJ, and released their first album, Into the Rush, in August 2005. A deluxe edition with new songs, music videos and cover art was released in August 2006. The two have a new Christmas album, titled Acoustic Hearts of Winter, released on September 26, 2006. The Michalkas were featured on MTV Cribs August 21, 2006.
Alyson has been on hit TV talk shows with her sister AJ Michalka such as Live with Regis & Kelly and The Megan Mullally Show.

Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka (born on April 10, 1991) is an American actress and singer. She used to be a model prior to becoming an actress, but she is perhaps best known as one-half of the musical duo Aly & AJ with her sister, Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka.
Biography
Amanda Michalka was born in Torrance, California. In 1992, she and her older sister, Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka and their parents (Carrie Begley Michalka and Mark Michalka) moved to Seattle. There her parents made sure they were exposed to all varieties of music. They then moved back to Southern California, where they still live. AJ was in a number of WORD Music productions at her church in Southern California as a young child. AJ sings and songwrites with sister Aly. Aly & AJ is the name of their singing partnership. Amanda plays a variety of instruments such as acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, and bongos. In March 2006, she made her Disney Channel debut in the Disney Channel Original Movie Cow Belles, as "Courtney Callum", along with sister Aly, as "Taylor Callum". They were to star in Haversham Hall, a new Disney Channel Original Series that was supposed to premiere this fall, but was not picked up. She has also made appearances on shows such as Oliver Beene, Six Feet Under, The Guardian, and General Hospital.
