Hi! Don't worry to much about this, I am also studying psychology and sometimes I also have difficulties dealing with anxiety and sadness. I don't think it means you can't be a psychologist. Actually, it can allow you to become a great psychologist. Psychologists who never suffered from those type of situations have no idea of how hard it is for the person in front of them! Your capacity of empathy will be better than theirs! But you also have to be careful not to let yourself being overwhelmed by all of this. If necessary, try to meet a psychologist yourself. ;)

Psychologist - "My dream is to be a psycologist but..."

Hi Guys! I am Grace Kim from S. Korea.
I really wanna be a psychologist in the future. I want to be a doctor related to psychology. So I chose this job as a dream!
But... It's so hard to be a doctor like psychologist. As you know, I have to study very well and a lot! But my exam score is not enough. There are many students that study very well in Korea, and they may also want to be doctors.
What should I do? I am so depressed these days.... :(

be a psychologist is to be a doctor, is to be in contact with the spirit, to step into the shoes of the customer, it's like someone who would like to see what's in an orange. He must cut it in half and there vera inside, seeds, small bubbles that contain orange juice. Thus it is the same for a psychologist

Hi,

You seem to have taken this subject quite seriously. Well, to be precise all you need is to keep an open mind to all around you regardless of whether it is an experience or an interaction with others,
Taken in general people tend to be selfish not because they want to spite others, but because it has come from the parents or grand parents. The lack of the ability to project one self outwards, in the sense, wanting to be of assistance to others makes out life a burden for ourselves.
Look for ways and means to generate a smile on faces of others, may be a kind word or a genuine, yes compliments coming from deep within the heart can pronounce wonderful joy to us and others .And you rejuvenate him and you as well.Thereby we tend to have all we need at our feet.

This is just a brief elaboration of the matter. Dig deeper and you will reach the water at the bottom of the well

regards
Raja

Awwwww! That guy who replied, Tiril is soo cute! lol, how sweet.

And as for child psychology, you could try to find some courses for it where ever you live, and it's also good to do some research on Google. You'd be surprised at how much you could learn just by visiting some websites about it, I know Google has taught me a lot. And as Tiril said; you have to be like a child and try to see it from their point of view. Be considerate and know that if you are ever dealing with a child that they can't express their feelings perhaps as well as adults can. So be patient! And one important thing is to never underestimate the situation, it's better to make a big deal out of it and learn that it wasn't as bad as you thought, than to look past a problem that could be hurting a child very much and not be able to help them.
Good luck!

Children are the hardest, children-psychology is the worst! Its hard to imagine how a kid that is for exsample being sexually abused at home is really feeling. You have to think like a child, to get into it, at make she or he talk, tell you everything. You sorta gotta be the kid when you to are together. I wish you good luck! And i know that i dont know that much about children-psykology, but i know that this is a big deal! My mother have a book about, it, and i have to say: Its VERY boreng! But still so amazing.. thank that you gte to expirience children from diffrent families, and when their done, they feel so much better! people say that all we need to save a persons life is a cop and a doctor, but us psykologist are alomost most important! We save so many lifes, and so many broken hearts. We are the heart and mind-doctors! Good lock again, and i hope you become the future doctor Phil or Oprah Winfrey or something :D

I agree with what your friend said very much because I experience this too. I love psychology, it's truly fascinating when you get into it. Not only do you learn about yourself but you get the gratification of knowing that you are helping someone else in the process. Who knew a simple thing like talking and listening could help a person so much? It does, humans need to interact as much as they need anything else to survive. It's about the health of your mind. And like they say a healthy mind = healthy body.
One thing I have to say though, if you want to do psychology it is best if you have a passion for it rather than just doing it because of someone else. So I suggest you look up on it on Google or do some research to see if this is suited for you and if it really interests you. Because if you end up having a job that you absolutely love, then it's more like a hobby than work. :D Good luck!

To the girl who replied: Psychology is about learning about people's characters and their behaviour. Learning why people do things, their motives, what causes people to act a certain way, how it affects them in the future and how we could fix this. That actually sounds quite complicated but it's really not, psychology is pretty much all theory. People do experiments to see what is the most common approach to certain situations, it's just to understand people in a more deep and personal level. So it can't really be fact because everyone is different and unique, that's what makes psychology so interesting. By having a better understanding of people, psychologists can help others who have stress or mental health problems to cope with different aspects of their lives. For example, depressed people, psychologists would help them let go of their past bit by bit or use their past to help shape their ideal future. Psychologists would help to rebuild their self esteem and confidence and try to make them more open to possibilities and to be in general a more positive person. I hope this helps, a quick search on Google could give you a lot more detail. :) Good luck!

Psychologist - "Social Worker. :D"

I actually am currently studying become a social worker for CPS & you have to take child psychology. It's a very interesting subject to learn, and it definatly opens your eyes to the inner workings of the human mind.

hi kaitlin, i think it is so great that you want to be a psycologist. i want to be one too.you could try googling it and i am sure you would come up with alot or when you see two of your friends who are angry at each other in your class or something you could try thinking about what the problem really is and help them work it out. i do that sometimes and i think it is really good practice- plus it helps everybody.
