I've been doing Karate ever since i was still in elementary 3rd grade up until 2nd year college. I only do Sparring i don't do kata (i'm not good in kata :P), I've been joining tournaments here in my country be it regionals or nationals :) but ever since i became a third year college i stopped doing karate cause i became more focus on my studies. i kind of miss doing it :) |

I love karate because I want to be a ninja just like Naruto. there is an actual ninja school 40 minute drive from me but my mum wont let me go unless I am top of the class is everything which is going to be really hard because we 2 super genius kids in our class and another kid who I compete with to get better marks. I know many people will disagree with me. I am against Karate being in the Olympic. I had my time in doing sports Karate but I think it's just a game. For me, Karate is not a sport and never will be. I practice it as an art of self protection where I can use to protect myself and my love ones. However, I can see the benefits if Karate is in the Olympic, but I don't want the same thing that happened to Taekwondo to happen to Karate. |

The thing I really love is the honor code and karate's traditions and I can't understand it like an sport.
If karate becomes an olympic sport traditions will be lost and champion will be a champion of gyako tsuki or mawashi geri, but no a karate's one. |

| Sorry, but i'm desagree whith you. Karate is lifestyle. At the beginning karate wasn't for competition. But it evolved and now they are a lot of competition : World championship, European championship, ect. So, why not in the Olympic ?

I did Karate(Shitho style) when I was doing my A/L in my school.Within one year I could improve a lot an participated in many tournaments both in kumithe and katha.I have certificates and medals.I prefer katha.Because of other things in my life I had to leave karate after one year while holding the blue belt.It was around 14 years ago.I wish if I can start it again.But I know its not practical to do it again.Now for me it has become only an unforgettable event in my life.Its a wonderful sport and is very useful because it connects with other activities in our life. |

 I've been doing Karate since I was seven years old, to help support some minor disabilities I have (blind in one eye, hearing problems, little co-ordination and balance), and I got my black belt in April. I'm going to see if I can do Karate for my qualifications, as I should be going for my 2nd Dan around then.
Karate is a great martial art to try, it isn't just about fighting, it is about control and discipline more. No, not that ninja thing people do whenever Martial Arts is mentioned, it's serious and a beautiful art to master. You need to be serious to do it, otherwise you won't be able to do it at all. |
