Welcome to my blog. My name is Lucile and I am French.




I want to present you China : one of the most beautiful country of the world !


China is the country the most populated in the world with around 1 284 303 700 inhabitants.
Its surface is of 9 571 300 km².
The languages are Chinese mandarin ( putonghua ) and 55 languages of the national minorities.
The capital is Beijing ( or Pékin in French ) with 11 300 000 inhabitants.

The Chinese currency is the Yuan Renmibi.


1 yuan renmibi = 100 fen.


There are many ricefields in China because China is one of the best productor of rice in the world. But China doesn't export much rice so rice is the base of the food in China.
Chinese use rods to eat.


Chinese cooking is widely seen as representing one of the richest and most diverse culinary cuisines and heritages in the world.
It is divided in 4 families : cooking of Dongbei, cooking of Shanghai, cooking of Sichuan and Cantonese cooking.


These are typical dishes of China :
- Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings)
- Guotie (fried dumplings)
- Noodles
- Fried noodles
- Noodle soup
- Kung Pao chicken
- Hotpot
- Fried pancakes (including green onion pancakes)
- Zongzi (rice balls wrapped in leaves, however not in ball shape)
- Peking Duck - the trademark dish of Beijing
- Baozi (filled steamed buns)


This is Mao Zedong. He was born in December 26th, 1893, in Hunan province.
He is the fondator of the Popular Republic of China. He made of his country the greatest communist country in the World.
He died to Beijing in September 9 th, 1976.


Qipao is the traditional dress of the Chinese women.
Symbol of capitalism, it has been forbidden by Mao Zedong in China. But today, in Taiwan and Hong Kong, it is in the Chinese collections.
The chinese monuments :


In the North of China, the Great wall extends, on more than 6000 km, since the gulf of Bohai in the East, to the province of Gansu on the West.
Intended to prevent the barbaric raids come from the North, it was begun under period Chunqiu of the dynasty Zhou, continued by Qin Shi Huangdi and ended under Ming.
It contains a tower every 200 m and measures between 3 and 8 m high.


Temple of the sky :

Temple of the sky comprises several buildings and contains the famous room of the prayers for good harvests, one of the most famous monument of Beijing.





The speechless town, in the center of Beijing, contains the imperial place, the residence of the emperors of China.
This all of 720 000m2 including 800 buildings and 9000 rooms, sheltered 9000 women and from 50 000 to 70 000 servants in the XVIIIth century.
It knew its highlight under the dynasty of Qing.




The pagodas are the buildings located in the enclosure of the Buddhist temples.


Beside the Chinese traditional pagodas, appeared in the XIII century dagobas or Lamaics pagodas.


Situated to 10 km of Beijing, the Chinese imperial summer palace was composed of a big number of buildings. It was called " Garden of the Caution and the Clarity ".
It has been destroyed by the European in 1860, and it has been reconstructed by the Empress Cixi in 1888 who called it " The Garden where from the cultivate the harmony ".


If you go to China, you can go to Hong Kong.
This little island located near China was Brittanian but it is Chinese now.
It is a rich island with a great airport and it has a great port which is one of the biggest in the world.


When I said Hong Kong was rich, it also means that it is really modern : on this photo, you can see the great buildings which are really modern.
But Hong Kong keeps some traditional things like the traditional boats which sail between China and Hong Kong.


The Gobi is a large desert in China and in Mongolia.
This desert measures 1600 km from the Southwest to the Northeast and 800 km from the South to the North. Its surface is of around 1 300 000 km². Then, it is one of the biggest desert in the World.


My Chinese penpals : Cinderella and Pishan. They helped me for the songs in Chinese because I didn't know any songs in Chinese ^^. Xiè xiè ( Thanks in English ! )
